Pipeline Alley

Pipeline Alley, between the National Transit Building and its Annex, is the site of 14 free lunch hour summer concerts sponsored by the Oil City Arts Council. This week's performer is Back Porch Gold.

Jim Ahrens, Gary, and Joyce Dittman make up “Back Porch GOLD”, and have played for Oil Heritage Festival, Annual Hee Haw Tributes at the Barrow-Civic Theatre, Paint the County Purple Day and many private engagements since they were formed in 2010. Jim and Gary became reacquainted several years ago while playing guitars together in a Honky Tonk for Community Playhouse, Inc. Their similar guitar styles and skills compliment and challenge each other in ways that make each of them better musicians. Joyce and Gary have performed together many times for CPI audiences as well for the weddings of family and friends, so adding her vocals has been a natural addition to Jim and Gary’s guitars.

Although “Back Porch GOLD” usually just plays on the back porch, they hope you will enjoy the golden oldies and easy listening tunes they have to offer. From Simon and Garfunkle to the Eagles, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, Beatles, and more, you are sure to enjoy the musical offerings of “Back Porch GOLD”.

In case of rain, the concert will be held in the “Great Room” of the National Transit Building. Bring your lunch and enjoy the music.
